Riu Guanacaste- All Inclusive Resort in Costa Rica

We had been living in rural Costa Rica for a year when we went to Riu Guanacaste to meet family visiting from the states. We were were pleasantly surprised by the high level of customer service, attention to detail, and luxurious atmosphere; a welcome treat after getting used to bumpy side walks, the slow pace of life, and haphazard construction in our small farming community.

Riu Guanacaste got everything right. From the spacious and inviting lobby to the friendly staff to the fantastic meals. We felt relaxed and welcomed during our 4 night stay at this all inclusive resort. Well, as relaxed as one gets when traveling with small children.

Riu room

Our room featured 2 king sized beds, perfect for sleeping a family of 4. We simply moved one mattress onto the floor so that our baby and toddler would not fall out of bed. The room was big enough to accommodate the bed on the floor and our older daughter still had plenty of room to run around. Our room was exceptionally clean with pristine linens and heavy black out curtains.

We spent our days by the pool enjoying unlimited drinks and 24-7 dining options. All meals were buffet style and had enough choices to leave us all stuffed after trying as many options as we could. Dinner was especially well done. Riu has a handful of restaurants that are opened only for dinner and featured themed cuisine including Italian, Chinese, and a steakhouse.  Eating is one of our favorite family activities, and Riu Guanacaste did not disappoint.

We can not wait to go back to Riu Guanacaste and suggest it to all of our family, friends, and other expats we meet in Costa Rica.
